Classical Guitars

The construction method of Michael Brey Classical Guitars is a blend of traditional and modern styles. The sides are reinforced so that they absorb less of the energy generated by the strings and the movement of the top and back plates. To enhance the sustain of the instrument as well as reduce the tension in the top and back plates I am using a stabilising strut between the foot of the neck and the bottomblock. The neck is reinforced with carbon fibre. Besides the traditional, spanish neck / heeljoint a dovetail joint with a different neck angle and raised fingerboard is also available. This will facillitate playing in the higher registers. Another option is the wedge shaped body (invented by Linda Manzer) designed to give you a better view of the fretboard and for more playing comfort. Only the best tonewoods are used in construction and each guitar is sealed with Schellac on the inside.
For the finish on the outside you have the choice between Schellac, a Waterbase Laquer or a combination of both.

Archtop Guitars

Michael Brey Archtop Guitars are available in the body sizes of 15, 16, and 17 inches. All Archtop Guitars feature the stabilising strut (see Classical Guitars). A two-way adjustable trussrod is also a standard feature. The top and the back are handcarved and tap - tuned. Only the best tonewoods are used in construction. Each Instrument is finished with Schellac on the inside and a top quality Waterbase Laquer on the outside.

All electric versions are fitted with high-end pickups which will be chosen according to the sound you have in mind.
